Reclaimed wood is wood flooring that has been recycled and reused and is commonly used in older buildings including those from the 18th to the early 20th century. Reclaimed wood normally originates from buildings, railroads and other wooden structures that have begun to fall apart, that have been repurposed over being sent to a landfill, it gets repurposed.
Parquet flooring is wood flooring that has been put into a geometric mosaic of shapes known as “parquet” and sometimes utilises a wide range of wood types that differ in colour and grain including Oak, Walnut, Cherry, Lime, Pine and Maple. Parquet flooring can be made by solid wood or engineered wood and is normally laid in hallways or bedrooms.

A Caring Approach
In 2019, Donnelly Watson installed new wood safety flooring at Hillcroft House, a residential care home in Stowmarket that provides accommodation for people with dementia.
As well as bringing a fresh look to the property, the flooring we helped the client choose was also the most practical choice; its non-slip qualities protecting elderly residents from falling or injuring themselves.
