Does vinyl flooring scratch easily?

Because vinyl flooring features a protective upper layer, you should find that it is more resistant to marking than other types of flooring. All Tarkett flooring is designed to be tough and scratch resistant, making it a good choice for family homes. Unlike hardwood floor, vinyl is also inexpensive and easy to replace should a deep scratch occur. Vinyl tiles and planks are especially easy to swap out.

How long does vinyl flooring last?

Unlike other types of flooring which is prone to wear, tear, shrinkage, and fading, Tarkett vinyl is designed to be incredibly long-lasting. Durable layers and a protected surface make Tarkett floors resistant to wear and tear – even in high traffic areas. They are low-maintenance and require little to no work to keep them in brand new condition for decades.

Is vinyl flooring toxic?

All Tarkett floors are non-toxic. Tarkett is dedicated to innovation that improves indoor air quality. Their floors have low VOC emissions and are manufactured using phthalate-free plasticisers. Tarkett’s iQ Natural collection is made of 75% of natural raw materials and its sustainable linoleum collections are made from 94% natural raw materials.

What is the average life of vinyl flooring?

While different types of vinyl have differing life spans, the average life of vinyl flooring is 10-20 years. With good treatment, they can last even longer. Vinyl’s life expectancy increases the thicker it is. Thicker, cushioned flooring can be expected to last around 25 years.

What is vinyl flooring made of?

Vinyl flooring is made of synthetic, man-made plastics derived from crude oil and salt. Vinyl combines plastic and chlorine to make Polyvinyl Chloride – or PVC. PVC is durable and long-lasting but can also be recycled, making vinyl flooring a sustainable choice for your home. Does vinyl floor need underlay?

Most vinyl floors do not need underlay. Vinyl is crafted with several different layers, including an underlayer which mimics the function of underlay. Cushioned vinyl is especially effective at creating a soft, warm floor underfoot without the use of underlay. If you choose loose-lay vinyl, you may need to install underlay if your subfloor is not even.

How do you clean Tarkett flooring?

Tarkett floors are extremely easy to clean, making them a great option for areas like the kitchen or dining room. Tarkett’s surface treatment makes all its vinyl and laminate stain-resistant, meaning any spills can be quickly and easily wiped up. For a more general clean, first remove any dust or grit with a broom or vacuum. Then, go over your floor with a damp mop or cloth and a mild detergent. If you do come across any tougher stains, they should be easily lifted with a little white spirit or diluted alcohol.

Is Tarkett flooring waterproof?

All of Tarkett’s vinyl is water-resistant, making it a good choice for high-moisture areas like bathrooms or kitchens. If you want to create a completely waterproof floor, we recommend choosing one of Tarkett’s sheet roll vinyl designs rather than tiling – although both are water-resistant enough for normal bathroom use.

What is Tarkett flooring made of?

Tarkett laminate flooring is made of high-density wood board and melamine. More than 60% of Tarkett’s wood is FSC or PEFC certified. Tarkett’s vinyl collections are largely made from phthalate-free PVC. Its sustainable linoleum collections are made from 94% natural raw materials.

Where is Tarkett flooring manufactured?

Tarkett vinyl flooring is a French company with manufacturing sites all around the world. Its products are made in France, Germany, Luxembourg, Sweden, Serbia, Russia, Canada, and the US.

What is the difference between vinyl and cushion flooring?

Tarkett vinyl comes in a variety of styles to suit all needs and budgets. While common vinyl comes in thinner strips, sheets, or tiles, cushioned flooring is much thicker and softer underfoot. Cushion flooring is up to 4.5mm thick. Not only does this make it soft beneath your feet, it also means cushioned flooring is much better at absorbing noise than other types of flooring. It’s a great choice for family areas like living rooms and bedrooms.
