Roof Terrace | Thorpeness

Case Study: Life’s a Beach

Donnelly Watson supported the refurb of an impressive beachside property in Thorpeness, laying artificial grass on the roof terrace and luxury vinyl tiles in two en-suite bathrooms.

Contemporary Character

Rokeby & Ryder, a local construction company, were taking care of the overall refurbishment, but the property owner contacted us directly for the supply and fitting of the new flooring.

Looking to bring some character to the property, the owner asked us to recommend a brand of artificial grass for the terrace. We opted for Wentworth, which offers a nice amount of thickness at 25mm.

It’s always nice to have positive feedback, and the client was kind enough to call us following the job to tell us how happy they were.

Technical Expertise

The most technical aspect of this job was running the artificial grass up the upstand and ensuring there was a neat finish along each edge of the terrace. Much like cap and cove flooring, this required precise measurement and cutting.

Rhinofloor LVT was selected for the bathrooms, with 6mm ply used as underlay to ensure a smooth surface ahead of fitting.
