Gressingham Foods | Diss

Case Study: Food for Thought

Gressingham Foods, one of East Anglia’s leading food companies, approached Donnelly Watson to lay carpet and safety flooring for their newly built offices in Redgrave, near Diss.

Grand Designs

A combination of Desso Rock and Salt carpet tiles was chosen for the offices, meeting rooms and reception area, with Polysafe WoodFX safety flooring selected for the kitchen and canteen. Desso is a popular choice for commercial spaces, with a number of colours and tones available across the range.

In this case, the architect opted to use two to three colours for each room, creating a contemporary look for Gressingham’s new offices.

With the tiles purposefully arranged in irregular patterns, our fitters had to follow the designs very closely, otherwise it would have meant starting from scratch. Precise measurements and calculations were also required when sourcing the carpet tiles from the supplier.

With more than a dozen rooms to fit in total, we assigned a team of five to the job, ensuring we could complete the necessary work by the agreed date.

A Team Effort

One challenge we had to consider was the presence of other workmen and carpenters on site – something we are well-accustomed to with commercial projects of this nature. On this occasion, however, we were fortunate that the majority of work was completed prior to our arrival, giving us free rein and the necessary space to proceed.

We were also lucky to work with a very accommodating client who was delighted with the end result.
